The Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team has signed its fourth transfer student athlete this offseason. Guard Najé Murray will transfer from Texas Tech to Syracuse next season for her graduate year.

During one season at Texas Tech, Murray averaged 7.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game in 19 starts. She shot 37% from behind the arc in 2020-21.
Murray transferred to Tech after two years at San Diego State. In her sophomore season with SDSU, Murray set the school record for most three-pointers in a single season (81). She started in 31 of 32 games and averaged 13.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest. She led the Mountain West Conference in made three-pointers (81) and threes made per game (2.5), and tied for second in steals (61).
As a freshman, Murray was named to the Mountain West All-Freshman Team. She led all freshmen in the conference with 1.8 three point field-goals per game. She started in 16 of 30 games that season and averaged 9.3 points per contest.
At Saint Mary’s High School in Stockton, Calif., Murray was a three-star recruit and earned a 90 scouts grade by ESPNW. She surpassed 1,000 career points during her time in high school and earned multiple accolades, including NorCal Sports TV Girls West All-Star, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass Junior First Team, Cal-Hi Sports All-State Underclass Sophomore First Team, and All-Sac-Joaquin Section Tri-City Athletic League Second Team. She also helped lead her team to a CIF Open Division state title.
