Syracuse men’s soccer forward Deandre Kerr selected as All-ACC Freshman

As always, this follows a recurring theme around these parts

While the Syracuse Orange men’s soccer team didn’t see standout results when you look at the table, the individual performances had some high points. On top of Luther Archimede and Sondre Norheim being drafted in the MLS Superdraft, forward Deandre Kerr has been officially named to the All-ACC Freshman team for the 2020-2021 season.

A starter for the Orange, Kerr played in 12 of the 13 games for the Orange on the year, leading the team with four goals on the year, three of those in conference play. With the midseason departure of Archimede to the New York Red Bulls, Kerr was tasked to lead the line for the remainder of the season and did so admirably, drawing defenders and looking comfortable in the box, as he adjusted to the college game.

Notably, Kerr netted two goals in an early season match against Louisville. He constantly made dangerous runs, drawing a few penalties for the Orange, and got back on the scoring kick in the final two games of the season against NC State and St. Francis, before the abrupt end to the year.

Kerr joins eight former players on the All-ACC Freshman list, since the Orange joined the conference in 2013.
