Well the last 48 hours have been something for Syracuse Orange basketball programs. We’ve got thirteen players in the transfer portal and one more entering the NBA Draft process and people are fired up online.
So we were a bit surprised when the phone lines at TNIAAM HQ lit up with an Indianapolis number on the caller ID. It seems that the PR team of Patterson, Joseph and Carey wanted to make sure their client had a chance to tell their side of the story. And that’s how we landed this interview with the Transfer Portal.
TNIAAM: Well thanks for your time Transfer Portal. These are certainly busy days so we know your time is valuable.
Transfer Portal: It’s business as usual really but couldn’t sit back and let some of these slanderous statements go unanswered.
TNIAAM: Ok, what’s so slanderous? You’re the place athletes go when they want to find a new home.
Transfer Portal: Exactly. Athletes from all sports and all schools. There is nothing personal against Syracuse.
TNIAAM: Well you certainly should understand why Orange fans would find that hard to believe don’t you?
Transfer Portal: Whoa whoa whoa there. Enforcement is in an entirely different floor at HQ. We don’t associate with that crew so don’t try to draw us in to that.
TNIAAM: We’re not here to bring up past grievances so why are all these players leaving our basketball programs?
Transfer Portal: Don’t point the finger at me. I don’t put anyone in against their will. They come to me. They come to me.
TNIAAM: Look we get the seniors looking to pursue new opportunities but BBBB and Kadary? Why? Why can’t you let us have nice things?
Transfer Portal: This is getting a little awkward
TNIAAM: Oh, it’s awkward for you? How about you make an unexpected Sweet 16 run and before you can even set your unrealistic expectations for next season the rug gets pulled out from under you. HOW DO YOU THINK THAT FEELS?????
Transfer Portal: So I’m guessing you don’t want to know what else we know.
TNIAAM: What? Spill it? Hello? Hello? Oh no.....
