National Signing Day: 2021 OL Jakob Bradford signs with Syracuse

The JuCo signing should add depth to the talent pool

Syracuse v Maryland

Since the early signing period takes care of most of the signings for a given class, National Signing Day doesn’t really give us much news anymore. Still, the Syracuse Orange do have more player(s) to sign on Wednesday. As we did during the early signing period, we’re posting profiles here on TNIAAM to introduce the new faces to the program. Next up is Jakob Bradford, an offensive lineman from Minnesota.

Hometown: Brooklyn Park, MN

Previous School: Iowa Central Community College

Stats: 6-foot-4.5, 300 lbs.

Commitment date: Uh... today. No forewarning on this one.

Position: Offensive Line

Ratings: 3 stars all around, JuCo Rating of 83 on 247Sports.com

Other Offers: Virginia Tech, Bowling Green, UMass, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss and others.

Dino’s projected nickname: “Big Jake and the Pancakes” - when he inevitably fronts a random 90’s ska band.

Player Breakdown: With his size and build, especially coming off a successful JuCo campaign, Bradford should get a look at the depth chart at tackle. I don’t think it’s likely that he’s coming in a starter, but with his build and experience, he should be ready to compete at this level. Bradford would come in with three years of eligibility remaining. It’s unknown how much of an impact that the loss of Mike Cavanaugh will have on the signing of Bradford, since he would be his position coach.
