EA Sports College Football returns: Which recent Syracuse players would you create first?

If you build it, they will come. Or in this case, if you wait long enough, a gift from the gods shall appear.

You were probably just minding your own business on this fine Tuesday morning. You were probably shoveling snow or figuring out when to shovel snow. Then, from the heavens above, the doom and gloom was broken instantly by a magic little tweet that granted you your every wish.

That’s right, your eyes do not deceive you. EA Sports will release a college football game, most likely this upcoming fall. This will be the first college football game released since NCAA Football 14. Finally, you’ll be able to play with your beloved Syracuse Orange in the virtual world once again without having to dust off the old PS3 or Xbox 360.

However, without a confirmed agreement for player name, image, and likeness rights, it’s pretty unlikely that we’ll get real athletes into the game initially to start. That won’t stop us from creating our favorite recent Syracuse players to use on the virtual gridiron. There are quite a few players that have played for the Orange since the release of the last NCAA football game (2013). So who should you create first? Let us help you out.

Eric Dungey

If you’re not raising his aggression and leaping to 99, are you truly getting the full Eric Dungey experience? We all know you’re going to have the most fun playing with Dungey given his vast skill set, so get ready to “hurdle” your opponents.

Andre Cisco

Next time you play your little brother, sister, or child, depending on your age, demoralize them with your ball-hawking safety that will guarantee an interception during every quarter.

Alton Robinson

Sometimes it just felt unfair that Robinson was on the field for Syracuse as he demolished opposing offensive lines. Make your next pass rushing attempt easier with your favorite Syracuse defensive end.

Zaire Franklin

Perhaps you need a linebacker that can do everything without you asking. While you can only control one person at a time, Franklin is the perfect linebacker to do anything you want. Whether he needs to drop back in coverage, sit and QB spy, or become an extra blitzer, Franklin’s going to be a safe pick to use.

Trill Williams

No one screams versatility in an NCAA football game more than Williams. If you really wanted to, you could probably play him on offense and on special teams. At the very least, you’ll have a dynamic playmaker on defense.

Steve Ishmael

Now that you have Dungey, you need someone to throw the ball to. Why not one of his best targets that balances speed, height, and physicality? At the very least, you’ll be able to reminisce about a better offense.

Ervin Philips

You’ve got versatility on the defense, now here’s your versatility on offense. Here’s your hybrid back/running back/wide receiver/return man that you need to do anything on offense to keep your opponents guessing.

Amba Etta-Tawo

Perhaps you just want to run go routes down the sideline. Well create Etta-Tawo for that purpose and maybe tweak Dungey’s accuracy a little bit.

Garrett Williams

Maybe you’re starting a new career mode save and you’re ready to invest in Syracuse’s future. Why not create one of the more exciting playmakers on defense that can break up or intercept any pass that comes his way? His agility should be fun to use to stick to any receiver.

Sean Tucker

Finally, you’ll need to run the ball at some point. Create the running back that makes you forget that Syracuse’s offensive line has not been great for the past couple of years.

...

There are plenty of other players that you can create to join your Syracuse roster in the very near future. Who are you creating first? Sound off in the comments below. Also, vote on the poll below, which includes a couple more classic Syracuse players.
