Today marks the opening of the 2021 ACC Field Hockey Championship and the Syracuse Orange will enjoy the benefit of playing at home on Coyne Field. Syracuse enters play as the #2 seed behind the Louisville Cardinals. The Orange will face the #7 seed Duke Blue Devils today at 3:30 with the winner advancing to play the winner of North Carolina and Wake Forest on Friday. The championship game will be played on Sunday at Noon.

Each of the seven ACC teams is currently ranked with Syracuse 9th in the most recent poll. The Orange have been led on offense by Quirine Comans and Pleun Lammers who are top four in the ACC in points scored. Syracuse’s goalie Brooke Borzymowski has three shutouts and ranks 2nd in the ACC in goals against average with only 12 goals allowed in 15 games played.

All games will be broadcast on the ACC Network. Good luck to the Orange as they look to solidify a spot in the 18-team NCAA field which will be announced on Sunday evening.
