The Syracuse Orange football team is coming off a win over Boston College that sends them into the bye week at 5-4, just a single win away from bowl eligibility. The bye week comes at a great time to get rested and healthy, as the Orange’s first chance at securing a postseason spot will be on the road against the Louisville Cardinals, who have traditionally owned the Orange at The Stadium Formerly Known As Fast Food Pizza Stadium Cardinal Stadium.
As expected, a matchup against a 5-4 Orange and a 4-4 Cardinals team isn’t moving many needles at ACC home base, and as such, the worst combination of game coverage and kickoff times has befallen the two teams.
Syracuse's Nov. 13 game at Louisville with kick at high noon and be televised by the incomparable RSN
— Nate Mink (@MinkNate) November 1, 2021
This will the third straight game the Orange will have played on on RSN, with both previous matchups ending in wins for ‘Cuse. The downside is that for many in CNY and around the east coast, the specific channel you’ll find the game on is likely to available on only some providers, so make sure you’re keeping that cable login for another week.
The Cardinals have won the last two meetings against the Orange, and are 7-2 all time against Syracuse at home. In fact, the Orange have beaten Louisville just once since the two became ACC mates, with the lone win coming in 2018 at the Carrier Dome. This year’s game should be a close affair; The Cardinals are currently ranked 41st in SP+ while the Orange are 49th. The Orange will take their week to rest up for the game, while the Cardinals square off against Clemson.
