TNIAAM’s hiring a new Syracuse women’s basketball beat writer

(and hey, maybe more responsibilities too, if you’re up for it)

NCAA Womens Basketball: Pittsburgh at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

As you know, it’s been a... busy offseason for the Syracuse Orange women’s basketball team. But with the season about to start, we’re looking to add a new writer to the TNIAAM staff to cover the women’s basketball team for this upcoming season.

“Where’s Sara?” you’re probably asking by now. And we’re happy to say that she’s working for the Big 12 now. So while she leaves some big shoes to fill in this role, we’re excited to bring in a new face as the 2021-22 season gets started to help shape the tone and tenor of our coverage of the team moving forward. It’s going to be a very different squad to cover than it has been in the past, as you’re well aware by this point.

And hey, if you’d like to do more, we’re happy to talk about that, too. We could always use more coverage around the rest of SU’s many excellent women’s sport teams — like field hockey, volleyball, soccer and women’s lacrosse (among others).

TNIAAM benefits tremendously from diverse perspectives, and a lack of diversity (lack of women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people) on staff means a lack of coverage & viewpoints that would better serve ALL Syracuse fans. We strongly encourage applications from people with those identities, or who are members of other marginalized or underrepresented communities.

If you’re interested in the role, we’re obviously trying to fill this as quickly as possible, so hit up TNIAAM@gmail.com with your resume/CV and some writing samples.
