The Syracuse Orange football team is back home this Saturday vs. the Boston College Eagles. And when they take the field at the Dome, you’ll be seeing them in some familiar duds.
Traditional color combo for an old foe.

Syracuse will be wearing the “traditional” home combo, with orange helmets, blue jerseys and orange pants. It’s actually the third time they’ll wear the look in 2021, after notching a win over Liberty and suffering a loss to Rutgers (both at the Dome).
SU’s just 1-3 wearing orange helmets this year, with the lone win against Liberty. They’re 1-1 in blue jerseys, with that win also being against Liberty. The orange pants have actually been on the field quite a bit this year, and Syracuse has compiled a 3-3 record with them on (wins against Albany, Liberty and Virginia Tech).
Since 2019, none of the uniform-specific win-loss records are all that good, obviously, because SU’s overall win-loss record hasn’t been that good either. But they’re 3-6 in the orange/blue/orange combo, and actually wore them against Boston College last season (a 16-13 loss if you recall). The orange helmets are 6-16 since 2019, while the blue jerseys are 4-6 and orange pants are 7-13.
