Orange in the NFL: Recapping Week 7 action of Syracuse football alumni

Whether or not the Syracuse Orange see success on Saturdays, you can be guaranteed there will be Orange on Sundays as the program has several players on NFL rosters this season contributing to their respective teams. Each week, we’ll recap the alumni action in one place in case you couldn’t flip through the channels fast enough.

Chandler Jones - Arizona Cardinals

Chandler landed himself on the Cards’ COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus. Based on the amount of time missed, including the Cardinals’ win over the Houston Texans, the linebacker was symptomatic even though he was vaccinated. The good news is that on Monday, he was activated and should be ready to go for Arizona’s next game.

Justin Pugh - Arizona Cardinals

The offensive tackle was back starting for the Cards and played 100% of the team’s offensive snaps. This is great news for Pugh as he’s been battling some minor, yet nagging, injuries that kept him from 100% snap participation in the early goings of the season.

Riley Dixon - New York Giants

The Giants got a chance to beat up on the struggling Carolina Panthers, but Dixon was still kept busy with 5 punts for an average of 45.8 yards, including a long of 51. One of those punts pinned the Panthers inside their own 20.

Zaire Franklin - Indianapolis Colts

The captain had his most productive game of the season, starting for the Colts on defense and racking up five total tackles, 4 of which were assisted tackles. He finished playing 30% of defensive snaps and 86% of special teams snaps in the Indianapolis victory over San Fransisco.

Andre Cisco - Jacksonville Jaguars

The Jaguars were on their bye week.

Alton Robinson - Seattle Seahawks

Robinson racked up 4 total tackles, 1 for a loss, in Seattle’s loss to New Orleans. Robinson didn’t start, but still got 39% of defensive snaps in the game.

Trill Williams - Miami Dolphins

Trill dressed for the game against Atlanta, but did not see any game action.
