Syracuse football: Sean Tucker wins second straight ACC running back of the week award

Making up for lost time.

NCAA Football: Clemson at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

After being snubbed by the ACC for the first five weeks of the season, the Syracuse Orange’s Sean Tucker has now won two straight conference running back of the week awards. The latest announcement came Monday, as per usual:

While Tucker didn’t have a three-touchdown performance like he did vs. Wake Forest (in part due to some goal line vulture work from the quarterback position), he was still integral to Syracuse staying in it ‘til the very end vs. Clemson last Friday. He ran the ball 22 times for 157 yards, and caught two passes for 20 yards on the evening. It was Tucker’s fifth straight 100-yard game and his sixth on the year as he’s already knocking on the door of the single-season record at Syracuse there.

For the year, Tucker’s second in the country in rushing yards with 948, and is tied for ninth in rushing touchdowns with nine. He’s also first in yards from scrimmage with 1,172 on the year, and is tied for fifth in touchdowns with 11.

As one might guess, we’re pleased with Sean’s performance.

(also, looks like there will be some Tucker merch coming soon — with No. 34 on it — so will be on the lookout for that)
