The Syracuse Orange will be wearing a familiar road set when they visit the Florida State Seminoles on Saturday. As announced on Thursday, SU is donning orange helmets, white jerseys and orange pants at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Of the 18 possible combinations in the uniform set unveiled back in 2019, this is now the second-most utilized other than the standard orange/blue/orange set (which ‘Cuse donned for the ninth time last week). Syracuse is 2-2 so far in these duds, with these being game No. 5. They last wore them in 2020 in a loss to Notre Dame, and earlier in the season in a loss to Pitt. Before that, the Orange beat both Duke and Liberty in these back in 2019.
SU’s 6-14 in the orange helmets since 2019, including 1-1 this year. They’re 3-8 in the white jerseys, with a win in the last appearance vs. Ohio. And 6-11 in orange pants, with two straight wins vs. Albany and Liberty (plus a loss to Rutgers before that).
Like the look? I personally think it’s the team’s most obviously “Syracuse” road set despite a preference for the all-whites. But it’s still a good combination that hopefully results in a win here.
