We knew that given the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic, programs were going to have to be flexible in their schedule from game times to different opponents. Both of those scenarios apply to the Syracuse Orange as two schedule changes were announced on Friday afternoon.
SCHEDULE UPDATES

Saturday vs. Georgetown will tip at 7 PM on ESPN.
Tuesday, Jan. 12 vs. Clemson has been postponed. We will now play at North Carolina that day (9 PM, ACCN). pic.twitter.com/raCcaX0Dp0
Saturday’s Georgetown game is now scheduled for 7 p.m. ET and will air on ESPN instead of ESPN2. The Orange then travel to Chapel Hill instead of hosting Clemson on Tuesday to play the Tar Heels. This all comes in response to Clemson’s program pausing due to a positive COVID-19 test. The Tigers and the Tar Heels were originally scheduled to play in the 7 p.m. slot on ESPN on Saturday.

The Tar Heels won’t have a makeup game this weekend, meaning that UNC will go seven days in between tipoffs. North Carolina last played on January 5 at Miami, winning 67-65. The Tar Heels are 7-4 overall, 2-2 in ACC play.
Syracuse was originally scheduled to play UNC on January 2 before that game was postponed due to the Orange’s program shutdown after a positive COVID-19 test within the UB program. Syracuse stopped team activities due to contract tracing and games against Notre Dame, Wake Forest, and North Carolina were postponed during that time.
