Syracuse Orange offensive lineman Qadir White looks to have entered his name in the transfer portal, per reports from 247Sports.com’s Stephen Bailey. White was injured through the 2020 season and did not see a snap for the Orange after coming in a highly recruited four-star signing from the Bronx in 2018.
White has the frame at 6-foot-7 and 343 pounds to compete at the Power Five level, but has not been able to find his way into the depth chart since arriving on campus.

White becomes the eighth Syracuse player to enter the portal this offseason (not including Cameron Jordan, who left the program last season), the list as follows:
- Cooper Dawson (Charleston Southern)
- Aaron Hackett
- Nykeim Johnson (Kent State)
- Cam Jonas (Florida A&M)
- Jawhar Jordan
- Jason Munoz
- Markenzy Pierre
SU was already looking for another offensive line addition this offseason — either via JUCO or transfer — and this underlines that importance even more. We wish White the best going forward, and would note this also opens up another scholarship for Syracuse. Current count is 89, including the seniors either confirmed or uncomfirmed to return, so we do have a little space to bring in more players this offseason and address pressing needs.
