Even though the 2020 season is about to start (hopefully), the Syracuse Orange are not done with recruiting yet for 2021. Wide receiver Umari Hatcher committed to SU on Friday, becoming the 19th player in the Orange’s 2021 class.

Hatcher stands at 6-foot-3, 175 pounds, so he definitely possesses the height Dino Babers would be looking for in his wideouts. He’s ranked three stars by both 247sports and Rivals. Both sites also rank Hatcher within the top-25 wide receivers in Virginia.

The main recruiting competition came from the likes of Michigan State, Indiana, Maryland, East Carolina and Liberty, who were the other schools along with Syracuse in his top six. Penn State, plus in-state schools Virginia and Virginia Tech also offered him, as did North Carolina and Temple, among others.

Hatcher becomes the first Virginian committed to the Syracuse class of 2021. He joins Kendall Long as the wide receiver commits in the class. Hatcher is also the ninth offensive player in the class.

Welcome to Syracuse, Umari! His tape is below:
