What’s college football saying about Syracuse after week 1?

Each week, we’ll take a look at what other college football media sites are saying about the Syracuse Orange after their opening week loss at North Carolina.

ESPN

In this week’s SP+ rankings Syracuse is in the 59th spot in the rankings between the Navy Midshipmen and East Carolina Pirates. The Pitt Panthers are up to the 15th spot after week one.

The Football Power Index drops Syracuse to 59th between the Temple Owls and East Carolina. This week’s opponent Pitt is up 15 spots to 22nd.

Syracuse drops two spots to 14th in this week’s ACC Power Rankings. The Orange are behind the Boston College Eagles and ahead of the Florida State Seminoles. Pitt moves up one spot to 4th this week.

CBS Sports

In the CBS Sports power rankings Syracuse remains in the 50th spot this week between the Florida Atlantic Owls and the Charlotte 49ers, CBS has Pitt ranked 24th this week.

The Athletic

The week’s rankings drop the Orange to 52nd in The Athletic’s Top 76 Power Rankings placing them in between Wake Forest and Western Kentucky. Pitt is ranked 23rd this week.

AP and Coaches Poll

Pitt finds themselves ranked 25th in the AP and with just outside the top 25 in the Coaches poll so the Orange will have another opportunity for a win over a ranked opponent.
