Name: Sean Tucker
Position: Running Back
Year: Freshman
Height: 5’10”
Weight: 202 lbs.
Hometown: Owings Mills, Md.
High School: Calvert Hall
2019 stats: As a senior, Tucker ran for 1,204 yards and 14 scores. Also won the MIAA indoor track 55-meter championship.
2020 projections: It’s a crowded backfield right now for the Syracuse Orange. And with a good deal of experience already in front of Tucker, he’s likely set to redshirt this season.
How’d he get here?: SU fought off Wisconsin (difficult) and Rutgers (not as much) in the Power Five ranks, along with Air Force, Kent State and others. Tucker picked the Orange pretty early on — April — in the 2020 cycle.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from everyone, and Tucker was one of the top 15 prospects from Maryland in 2020, according to ESPN.
Money quote: Calvert Hall head coach Donald Davis has done his homework —
“I think if you look at what (head) coach (Dino) Babers and those guys have done, (Tucker) fits their system. You look at what they do, he’s a great complementary piece in their offense.”

Tweets of wonder: Syracuse isn’t in Maryland, but should still name a “Crab Bowl Player of the Week” each week anyway.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Actor Sean Tucker has appeared in various films over the years, including 2002’s Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. In George Clooney’s directorial debut, Sam Rockwell plays a fictionalized version of game show host Chuck Barris, who claimed to also be a CIA assassin.
Interesting nugget o’interest: A lot of Syracuse players come in as two- or three-sport athletes out of high school. But Tucker’s incredibly accomplished in both football and track. Along with the obvious football accolades that got him a Syracuse offer, he’s also a two-time 55-meter dash champion in indoor track, and took home the 100-meter and 200-meter titles as a junior in high school as well. Dino Babers loves speed, and Tucker certainly fits that bill.
Let’s get a look at ya: Of course, you’re getting some Hudl highlights.
