Name: JaCobian Morgan
Position: Quarterback
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 203 lbs.
Hometown: Canton, Miss.
High School: Canton
2019 stats: Threw for 2,487 yards and 27 passing touchdowns during his senior season. Ranked the No. 51 prospect in Mississippi by 247sports.
2020 projections: Morgan joins Dillon Markiewicz as the 2020 signees at quarterback for the Syracuse Orange. It’s a pretty obvious redshirt year for Morgan, with a battle for position on the depth chart incoming over the next couple of seasons.
How’d he get here?: Morgan was a fairly late addition to SU, with him committing on January 26 of this year. The only other offers he received were from Jackson State and Austin Peay.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars on 247sports and ESPN, two stars on Rivals.
Money quote: What does Morgan believe he brings to the program?
“Something new, something they’ve never seen before because I’ve never had nothing given,” Morgan said Wednesday. “I’m just going to work hard, give everything I got. That’s something, I know it’s going to show.”

Tweets of wonder: Unfortunately, he’s a University of Syracuse recruit. One day, we’ll prevail over them.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Remember “Watchmen” back in 2009? Jeffery Dean Morgan plays “The Comedian” in the movie adaptation of the graphic novel. Of course, you might know Morgan in his other roles on “Grey’s Anatomy” and “The Walking Dead,” to name a few.
Interesting nugget o’interest: Fellow Canton High School graduate Damien Lewis played for LSU for the past two seasons and was named to the All-SEC Second Team. Lewis was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. Two rounds later the Seahawks selected former Syracuse defensive end Alton Robinson.
Let’s get a look at ya: I’m slowly running out of ways to introduce our trusty Hudl highlights.
