Name: Adrian Cole

Position: Defensive Back

Year: Redshirt Freshman

Height: 5’10”

Weight: 171 pounds

Hometown: Plantation, Fla.

High School: Plantation High School

2019 stats: Played in two games during his redshirt season but didn’t record any statistics.

2020 projections: The spring depth chart had Cole as a second-string cornerback behind Ifeatu Melifonwu so he’s likely to see the field more this season.

How’d he get here?: Cole chose to head up nothing despite in-state offers from South Florida, Florida Atlantic and FIU. He also had offers from Pitt and Buffalo.

What’d recruiting sites say?: Three-star recruit across the board.

Money Quote: Cole talked to the SunSentinel when he committed and he was excited about the future of the Orange program.

“Watching the Clemson-Alabama game, we feel like we could really do some great things next year and the years to come. With coach Dino [Babers] signing that extension, it’s going to have recruits wanting to come to Syracuse even more, and we’re going to do some great things.”

Twitter feed: No account for Adrian.

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Dino wants his team to play fast so he’s going with “Days of Thunder”. Tom Cruise plays NASCAR driver Cole Trickle. Cole’s a young rookie who is aggressive and often reckless. Dino’s going to push his young corner to take the same approach.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Cole comes from the same high school program as former Orange tight end Ravian Pierce.
