Name: Devon Clarke
Position: Safety
Year: (Redshirt) Senior
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 197 lbs.
Hometown: Kissimmee, Fla.
High School: Osceola
2019 stats: Devon played strong safety for the Syracuse Orange last year, and appeared in eight games — mostly on special teams. He had one tackle vs. Florida State.
2020 projections: Clarke didn’t appear on the two-deep depth chart back in March, which likely means a special teams role. That’s not a bad thing, by any means.
How’d he get here?: He really wanted to play for Syracuse, flipping from Oregon State.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from everyone, which is par for the course on the roster at this point.
Money quote: Back in 2018, he talked to the Orlando Sentinel about his mindset trying to break through the depth chart.
“Trying to work myself into the lineup is just a long process of working every day, going to practice with a good mindset and I’m gonna ball out every play.”

What movie would Dino recommend for him?: Devon Terrell played Danny in 2018’s “The Professor,” a film about a college professor — played by Johnny Depp — who (recklessly) stops being risk-averse following a terminal diagnosis.
Interesting nugget o’interest: We always use this one, because it’s a good one. Devon attended the same high school as the Backstreet Boys’ A.J. McLean.
Let’s get a look at ya: How about we hear more about Clarke from Dino Babers himself?
