Name: Ishmael Goulbourne
Position: Outside linebacker
Year: Redshirt freshman
Height: 6’3”
Weight: 204
Hometown: West Palm Beach, Fla.
High School: Dwyer
2018 stats: Took advantage of learning under a phenomenal pass rush duo during a redshirt year.
2019 projections: With the shift to the 3-3-5, Goulbourne moved to the outside linebacker position this season along with Steve Linton and Tyrell Richards. That’s likely in the hybrid pass rush flex role that Tony White is instituting. It was also his natural position coming out of high school, so pass defense isn’t completely foreign to him. By the look of it Goulbourne is outside the two deep coming out of the spring, but may work his way towards it as the season progresses.
How’d he get here?: He held offers from Buffalo, Cincinnati, Tulane and Western Michigan among others, choosing the Orange.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Three stars from ESPN and 247, and two from Rivals (boooo).
Money quote: Recycling this one from last year, but Dino’s got it down.
“This Ish is bananas, B-A-N-A-N-A-S! Welcome to the family!”

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Since I started with it, I’m rolling with the comic book movies until I run out. Ishmael Khan was one of the stunt doubles for Kaecilius’ zealots in Doctor Strange from 2016. We used the obviously obvious Moby Dick reverence last year.
Interesting nugget o’ interest: Dwyer High School has churned out a good bit of football talent, including Jacoby Brissett,
