Name: Jesse Conners
Position: Tight end
Year: (Redshirt) Senior
Height: 6’2”
Weight: 230
Hometown: Pittsford, N.Y.
High School: Salisbury School (Conn.)
2019 Stats: Conners failed to log any stats following a preseason injury.
2020 Projections: With the tight end depth chart pretty loaded up at this point, special teams seems like the best bet for him to get on the field for Syracuse.
How’d He Get Here?: After redshirting as a freshman at Holy Cross, he opted to travel back to New York and walk on for the Orange.
What’d Recruiting Sites Say?: No rating... their loss.
Money Quote: It took Conners’s football career a little longer than most to materialize, per a Syracuse.com article from 2018.
“I finished up my junior year. I always loved football, but I didn’t know I was really that good. After my junior year I started getting calls from all these FCS schools. I’m like, ‘Dad, it would be cool to keep it going, if I can get better and play at the next level.’”

Tweets Of Wonder: Always nice to get some love from your alma mater.

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: I feel like 1987’s “The Untouchables,” starring Sean Connery, is definitely a Dino favorite. In case you’re unaware of the movie (unlikely for most, but Gen Z kids may not be), Elliot Ness takes on Al Capone in Prohibition-era Chicago using a hand-picked squad of special agents.
Interesting Nugget O’Interest: Jesse’s sister, Paige, is a competitive figure skater and represented Israel at the 2018 Winter Olympics. His brother, Jared, was a standout men’s lacrosse player at Virginia. So athleticism seems to run in the family.
Let’s Get A Good Look Atcha: We take it back to practice in 2017...
