Name: Anthony Red

Position: Offensive Line

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 287

Hometown: Bloomfield, CT

High School: St. Thomas More

2019 stats: Redshirt Season. Played in one game (Duke) logging three snaps at tackle.

2020 projections: Red is going to push Matthew Bergeron at the right tackle spot and if he can’t unseat the returning starter he’s likely to see more time this season.

How’d he get here?: He chose Syracuse over offers from Buffalo, Temple and UMass.

What’d recruiting sites say?: 3 stars from everyone.

Money quote: Red was a late-bloomer but after attending a camp at Syracuse he felt that he was at home and didn’t need to wait for other P5 offers.

“It was being there on the campus, talking to some of the players,” Red said at the time. “It was a good fit. It just felt like it was the right move.”

Tweets of wonder: Anthony isn’t a big tweeter but in case you were wondering he went Stone Cold here so let’s give him a Hell Yeah!

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: Going with “Red” featuring Bruce Willis, Hellen Mirren and Morgan Freeman. When these Retired Extremely Dangerous agents get called into action they handle their business as a team.

Interesting nugget o’interest: Anthony became a college prospect after going from 230 to 270 in a span of a few months after his first season at St. Thomas More.

Let’s get a look at ya: Let’s watch some footage from Anthony’s high school reel
