We’ve reached June and sports-focused networks are still getting creative with how they fill programming space. Without live sports, ESPN’s family of networks faces a particular challenge — but one that they can potentially deal with by airing games from the Syracuse Orange and other ACC squads from the past several decades.
Every Monday, we’re highlighting how you can watch the Orange and when. Maybe you’ll enjoy some of these. Others, not so much. Not much happening this week, but you’ll probably enjoy seeing SU trounce North Carolina in the ACC Tournament once more. Though it wasn’t a close game at all, someone in the league offices seems keen on rewatching that one quite a bit recently.
(all times ET)

Syracuse men’s basketball vs. Notre Dame (2003), 4 a.m. — ACC Network
The latest Big East game to get the spotlight is another ‘Cuse win: this time, an 82-80 upset over at top-10 Notre Dame squad at the Dome. While Carmelo Anthony led the way with 26 points for the Orangemen, it was Gerry McNamara who played hero as he hit the go-ahead three with just 18 seconds left. It wound up being the first of seven straight victories to close out the regular season. SU would add another vs. Georgetown in the Big East Tournament before losing to UConn.

See above. If the first airing’s too early, give this one a shot instead. We promise it’s the same result.
Friday, June 5
Syracuse men’s lacrosse vs. Hobart (2020), 2 a.m. — ACC Network
A game that’s been on a lot lately despite the fact that there are numerous Syracuse men’s lacrosse games to air from previous seasons. SU led by just one goal at halftime, then smothered Hobart in the second half en route to a 21-13 victory.

More of the same. Literally couldn’t have thrown us a bone with another win, even if just from 2020 as well?
Sunday, June 7
Syracuse men’s basketball vs. North Carolina (2020 ACC Tournament), 10 a.m. — ACC Network
It remains puzzling why a North Carolina-based network would want to constantly air Syracuse’s demolition of a bad UNC team, 81-53, but we’re also not complaining. Credit to the ‘Cuse, Duke and/or NC State grads for getting this one our TVs so much. It was among the last college basketball games played in 2020, so cherish it. And the win.

More drubbing, and if you still haven’t watched it enough, you’ll get it again on the wee hours of Monday morning (which will be detailed in next week’s piece).
