We’re all missing Syracuse Orange sports and it’s been wonderful to see Orange fans take over online bracket after online bracket. Howeve,r we are calling on you to join us in a new effort that shows what Syracuse fans can do.
Over the weekend, journalists used their social media platforms to raise money and awareness for food banks. New York Times best-selling author Shea Serrano led the way for his local San Antonio Food Bank.
This is AMAZING! This is 1,000,000 pounds of food that we'll be able to distribute to our neighbors facing hunger. Thank you @SheaSerrano and to everyone who donated!

He was followed by a couple of legendary writers you should recognize:
So I've got 4 copies of How To Grow An Orange burning a hole in my bookshelf. I was thinking I'd sell signed copies for $25 and donate the money to @FoodBankofCNY (along with my own donation). Any takers? Slide in the DMs. pic.twitter.com/aORlxO3AVr

I also donated to @FoodBankofCNY! Hope others will also consider, especially during these times. pic.twitter.com/QCfyUylQ8W

So we decided to make this something to literally feed our desire to be part of a win again. If you’ve got the means to do so we’d like to ask you the TNIAAM readers to join us in supporting the Food Bank of CNY.
Just $1 will provide three meals to those in need, and The Food Bank of CNY partners with many different locations in Central and Northern New York so you’ll be supporting the “home team” if you’re able to participate.
There is a direct way to give online but we’d like to make a TNIAAM community gift so we set up an online method to accept donations through PayPal from now until Sunday. If you want to contribute through Venmo you can send it to @kwallcuse and we’ll provide updates each day on our progress. Next Monday morning, we’ll submit what we’ve collected to the Food Bank and together we’ll help others in this time of need and earn something more meaningful than winning an online pool.
