At last, we have reached out finals of the Inaugural TNIAAM CNY Restaurant Bracket, and we have a helluva Cinderella story. But before we let Jim Nantz take it away with the main event, I wanted to reflect on how uniquely Syracuse this whole experience was. We had Selection Sunday outrage, a relative quiet middle as I discounted the underdogs at every step, and now we have a Finals featuring Syracuse, NY local stops in what could only be described as Syracuse Orange-eque runs to the Finals.

#21 Heid’s vs #6 Varsity
It’s certainly no Duke vs Kentucky, and it’s certainly uniquely CNY. In the one corner, we have a Liverpool staple since 1917, recognized by the Food Network and Man vs Food. Specializing in all hot dogs, sausages, and summer sides that let you really soak in those few months of summer. In the other corner, Varsity is THE SU Campus staple, feeding students, alumni, and anyone in Orange since 1926. While most known for it’s Pizza, the hot food is my personal favorite, while the line for fresh wraps is usually backed up with an assortment of scrubs from the hospitals next door. However, I’m not so sure if there will be a Heid’s banner flipped if they win this matchup.
