After losing to Miami in overtime on Saturday, we knew the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team would be the 6-seed in the ACC Tournament. But we didn’t know how the rest of the bracket was locked in just yet.
Well, now we know, and you’re probably not going to like it...
It’s officially #ACCTourney Time!

Here's the bracket ↓↓ pic.twitter.com/JNRl6siTQx
Duke beating UNC means they’ll play in the 11 vs. 14 game on day one against Virginia Tech. The winner of that contest faces the Orange in round two.
SU is 1-2 against those teams this year, including a drubbing from the Heels at the Dome a week ago. UNC has won nine straight in that series, including the last time these teams met in the ACC Tournament (2018 - a 78-59 win for Carolina).
Of course, the Tar Heels still need to win the first game against Tech for all of that to matter. If Syracuse can get past whichever team they face in round two, they’ll be up against Louisville in the quarterfinals.
As mentioned before, the Orange need to win out here to make the NCAA Tournament, so it doesn’t really matter “who” we face anymore. Only an ACC title is going to get it done.
Cool? Cool. Syracuse’s first game, regardless of opponent, will take place at 9 p.m. (ish) ET on Wednesday, March 11.
