TNIAAM 2020 Beer Bracket: Sweet 16 voting

We’re down to just 16 breweries, and you all may be trying to kill me.

We started with 68 breweries, and we’re already down to just 16 as TNIAAM’s 2020 Beer Bracket continues to narrow the field. Though round one featured just two major upsets (RIP West Region top seed Highland Park), the second round wound up being a bloodbath.

In the Midwest, 3-seed Fair State was routed by 11-seed Bell’s, and 9-seed Cigar City rode name recognition to a lopsided upset over No. 1 Jester King in the South. West Region 16-seed Wayfinder pulled off yet another surprising win — this one over another local favorite of mine, Monkish. And the East has its own Cinderella with (CNY-adjacent, if you must) Mortalis making it to the Sweet 16 as a 14-seed.

While I suspect some definite voter fraud at this point (too much weirdness in certain matchups and too many late surges to be on the level), we’re going to trudge on as any banana republic would. At least the results so far have wound up being fairly representative of the regions, so that’s nice.

Below are all eight matchups in the Sweet 16, separated out by region. We’ll eventually get to more detailed notes on these breweries when I’m not writing these at 11 p.m. and/or you all stop voting out my favorite spots.

East Region
