Syracuse women’s basketball vs. Boston College: TV/streaming, time, history & more

One more time under the old roof, shall we?

Syracuse v Stanford: Greater Victoria Invitational

Teams: Syracuse Orange (15-13, 9-8) vs. Boston College Eagles (17-11, 10-7)

Day and Time: Sunday, March 1, 4 p.m. ET

Location: The Dome, Syracuse, N.Y.

Where to Watch: ACC Network

BC Blog: BC Interruption

Current Record: 32-23, Syracuse has not lost to BC since 2005. Coach Q is 12-0 against the Eagles.

Last Meeting: Thanks to 23 points from Kiara Lewis, the Orange grabbed a road victory over Boston College by a score of 89-79.

Head Coaches: Syracuse - Quentin Hillsman (14th season, 303-156 at SU). Joanna Bernabei-Mcnamee (2nd season, 31-27 at BC)

Coach Bio: Joanna Bernabei-Mcnamee has been coaching basketball since she graduated from West Liberty State in 1997. She has held various assistant coaching jobs in the women’s game, including Maryland and West Virginia. From 2016-2018, she was the head coach at UAlbany, where she went to one NCAA tournament and one WNIT tournament. Her first year at BC was last year as she was hired to revamp the women’s program.

Last Year: The Eagles played pretty well last year compared to previous seasons, but really struggled in league play, going 3-13. They finished with an overall record of 14-16, and did not participate in a postseason tournament.

Last Game: Boston College got smoked on the road against No. 5 Louisville 68-48.

“Fear Me, I’ve Killed Hundreds of Timelords”: Last time out against the Eagles, Emma Guy scored 23 points against Syracuse and grabbed 6 boards. The Orange also put her on the line 11 times, and she knocked down 9 of those 11. The key today is keeping her off the offensive glass and the free throw line. Her matchup with Syracuse bigs Engstler and Finklea-Guity will be an interesting one to watch. Taylor Soule also worries me in this one, as she scored 18 points her last time out against Syracuse and got to the line 12 times making 8 free throws. Keep those two contained and I think Syracuse wins this one.

If Syracuse Wins: This game is more about keeping Coach Q’s win streak vs. BC alive more than an at large bid, but every win helps if they’re going to make a run at this thing. Let’s close the Dome the right way and beat the Eagles.

If Syracuse loses: A tough weekend for ‘Cuse hoops to close out the Dome under its current roof, but a loss here doesn’t really do much as an ACC Tournament title seems to be our only hope.
