As you’re aware, Quincy Guerrier has been a force lately for the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team, and the offense should probably be relying a bit more heavily on him. Now, it seems the ACC is recognizing as much too, by naming the standout forward the conference’s player of the week.
: Quincy Guerrier@quincyguerrier averaged 22.5 ppg and 13.5 rpg in both @Cuse_MBB victories this week.

Guerrier’s averaging an impressive 18 points and 10 boards per game on the season, but was a crucial part of two close Orange wins in the last week. He averaged 22.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in those two games, including a dominant 27 points on 8-of-13 shooting in the OT win over Buffalo.
While three-point shooting remains a big part of SU’s offense, deploying Guerrier in the paint has become an increasingly important part of what the Orange do from a scoring perspective. On top of the efficiency he’s provided as a shooter around the rim, he’s also drawing fouls, putting up points from the line and even hitting threes at a clip that reasonable enough to let it rip from out there now and again.
At the rate he’s going, these may not be the last honors Guerrier collects from the ACC in 2020-21. Unfortunately this week won’t add to the collection of honors with SU’s game vs. Notre Dame cancelled.
