It’s early signing season, which means a new batch of Syracuse Orange athletes are about to head north. Syracuse will add recruits to the program between Wednesday through Friday, but expect most players to sign on Wednesday. As each signing is confirmed, we’ll post profiles here on TNIAAM. Up next is Tyler Magnuson, who maintains latitude, heading east from Minnesota.

Hometown: Minneapolis, Minn.

Previous School: Wayzata

Stats: 6’5”, 240 lbs.

Commitment date: August 7, 2020

Position: Offensive tackle

Ratings: Three stars all-around.

Other Offers: Syracuse was on the cutting edge of his offers, but was soon followed by Arizona, Duke, Army and Air Force among others.

Dino’s projected nickname: Iceman, as a nod to Iceland’s famous strongman Magnus Ver Magnusson.

Player Breakdown: Magnuson looks quite technically sound. He may need a little more hand work, but he keeps his center of mass over his legs and doesn’t get overextended. He’ll need that at the next level. He moves well and could be someone who moves around the line to various spots based on need.
