It’s early signing season, which means a new batch of Syracuse Orange athletes are about to head north. Syracuse will add recruits to the program between Wednesday through Friday, but expect most players to sign on Wednesday. As each signing is confirmed, we’ll post profiles here on TNIAAM. Up next is Josh Hough, whose remarkable high school stats might vault him up the depth chart sooner rather than later.

Hometown: Beaver Falls, Pa.
Previous School: Beaver Falls
Stats: 6’2”, 235 lbs.
Commitment date: April 20, 2020
Position: Running Back
Ratings: Three stars all-around. 247sports has Hough as the 78th ranked running back in the nation, while each of the major recruiting sites have him listed around the top 30 players in the state.
Other Offers: The big Power Five competition came from Kentucky and Pittsburgh. Other schools to offer Hough included Akron, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Coastal Carolina, and Toledo, among others.
Dino’s projected nickname: “This Beaver Falls running back is ready to break through the dam of opposing defenses”
Player Breakdown: Hough exploded for a monster senior year in high school, which should make fans very excited for his influence on the Carrier Dome turf. The numbers do most of the talking: 2,051 yards and 29 touchdowns on 125 carries. That’s an average of 16.4 yards per carry. What makes Hough so scary is that he’s pretty fast for a guy north of 235 pounds. You can only imagine how hard it was for high school kids to tackle a guy that strong and fast. His long touchdowns weren’t all runs up the middle: quite a few were outside of the numbers. Hough isn’t much of a cutter, but if he improves on his footwork in short-yardage situations, Syracuse could have a monster in the backfield.
