The 20th-ranked Orange stand at 4-0 on the season with a 1-0 mark in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Syracuse is averaging a 20.8 margin of victory this season with wins over Stony Brook, Lincoln, Penn State, and Miami.
Freshman Kamilla Cardoso leads the Orange with 14.3 points per contest. Tiana Mangakahia and Kiara Lewis are also averaging double-digit scoring, with 13.0 and 11.3 points per game respectively. Mangakahia exited Sunday’s game at Miami in the fourth quarter with an apparent lower-body injury. Though it is disappointing ‘Cuse can’t take the court Sunday, the change in schedule should help Mangakahia rehab and recover from her injury.
The Orange will now travel to North Carolina on Thursday, Dec. 17 for a 6 p.m. match-up on ACCNX. The Tar Heels hold a 5-1 record with a loss to ACC-foe Wake Forest so far.
