It’s been a minute since we’ve heard much about Syracuse Orange men’s basketball recruiting. However, that could change in the next week.
On Monday, 2022 shooting guard prospect Roddy Gayle announced his top six schools, with November 13 as the target date for a decision.

As you probably guessed from the headline, Syracuse is among his top six choices. Joining them are Ohio State, plus a collection of current and former Big East squads like UConn, Pitt, Marquette and Georgetown.
Gayle is a four-star player out of Youngstown, N.Y. and currently plays for Lewiston Porter Senior High School. He stands at 6-foot-4 and 195 pounds, and his highlights show some impressive leaping and an ability to finish inside (along with some three-point shooting too). The 247Sports composite has Gayle ranked as the No. 1 player out of New York in the 2022 class, the seventh-ranked shooting guard and 76th player overall.
If Gayle committed to Syracuse next week, that would give the Orange their second 2022 commit behind five-star point guard Dior Johnson and a potentially impressive backcourt joining Buddy Boeheim, Joe Girard and Kadary Richmond, who would all still be eligible when the 2022 recruiting class arrived on campus.
Highlights below. We’ll have a story up should Gayle opt for ‘Cuse next week.
