The Syracuse Orange field hockey team earned the 3rd seed for this week’s ACC Championships which will be hosted by the UNC Tar Heels. The Orange finished off the regular season with a 4-3 record, 3-2 in ACC play and they will face the 6th seed Duke Blue Devils on Thursday night at 7 p.m.

Syracuse finished off the regular season on a strong note as they handed the top-seeded Louisville Cardinals their only loss of the season winning 2-1 in the home finale over the weekend.

The Orange won their only meeting against Duke by a 4-3 score. Syracuse was led by Florine Van Boetzelaer’s two goals in that game and will be counting on senior goalie Syd Taylor to continue her strong play in this tournament.

If Syracuse wins on Thursday they would advance to face the winner of UNC-Boston College on Friday. Louisville awaits the winner of Virginia and Wake Forest on the other side of the bracket. The ACC Championship game is scheduled for Sunday November 8 at 1:30 p.m. ET, and all the tournament games will be broadcast on the ACC Network.
