Syracuse! Bye Week! It’s ACC FOOTBALL ON QUIBI!

NCAA Football: Wake Forest at Syracuse Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

After yet another tough loss, the Syracuse Orange football team is up against the Bye Week Fightin’ Byes this Saturday. You won’t be able to watch the game because reasons. But at least Syracuse has a pretty good chance to win against their long-standing rival. While SU has certainly struggled of late, the winless byes have had their own problems. Last time out, the Bino Dabers-coached squad dropped a 34-0 game to Louisville in an impromptu contest.

Before things kick off on Quibi (don’t question it, just accept it and move on) on Saturday, the TNIAAM staff provides their picks for what’s going to occur in the second matchup of the season between these two historic foes.

John

Syracuse 21, Bye Week 13

We saw some sparks of a Syracuse offense here and there last weekend, but not necessarily enough to project a blowout victory for the Orange here. JaCobian Morgan puts together another solid game, Sean Tucker finds some more running lanes and SU picks up the win despite a late push by Savid Dummers and the Byes in the fourth quarter. Afterward, Dabers remarks that he can’t wait to get back home, but forgets exactly which city he resides in at the moment.

Syracuse 27, Bye Week 8

Dino Babers uses this opportunity to get both of his young quarterbacks some experience. The Orange move the ball well but struggle in the red zone when the Byes 5-3-3 defense stymies the young signal-callers. Andre Szymt cashes in on a school record eight field goals and Chris Elmore adds a late one of his own as Syracuse completes the sweep.

Syracuse 44, Bye Week 44

Syracuse finds some offensive tempo once again with JaCobian Morgan under center. However, the leaky Orange run defense allows for Tean Sucker to rush for a touchdown every time he touches the ball. The game somehow gets to a 44-44 score before each team simultaneously runs out of available players due to injury. Without enough players for either team to play a down, the game is declared a tie.

Syracuse 15, Bye Week 2

Syracuse rides to victory for the second time this year against the Byes, not on the back of Jacobian Morgan, but on the leg of the one and only Andre Szmyt. Five field goals seal the deal, as by the end, Chris Elmore is lining up at quarterback. The Byes did grab a safety, after a great Colan Nooney punt pinned the Orange on the half-yard line.

Now it’s your turn...

Andy

Syracuse 2, Bye Week 2

Look, Syracuse is banged up to hell, and Bye Week is somehow magically healthy 5 minutes before the game. The defense steps up with Bear Williams getting the safety for the Orange, and Cub Williams getting the Bye Week safety before each team tries to win the game with kneel downs. It’s... not very effective.
