We had more Syracuse Orange teams get their 2020 seasons underway so let’s check in on them.
Volleyball
After jumping into the top five in the rankings, Syracuse travelled to South Bend and lost to the #6 Notre Dame Fighting Irish twice over the weekend. Syracuse lost in four sets on Friday night and then were swept by Notre Dame in Saturday’s match. The Orange will head to face the Louisville Cardinals next weekend.
Field Hockey
After their opening games were canceled the Orange finally got their season underway this weekend. Syracuse played two games at the Virginia Cavaliers and lost both by one goal. On Friday the Cavaliers took a 1-0 decision and on Sunday they were able to win 3-2 in double overtime. Syracuse had rallied from a 2-0 halftime deficit to force overtime on goals from SJ Quigley and Personal: Florine van Boetzelaer. The Orange return home this weekend for two games against the Boston College Eagles.
Another chance against the Cavaliers today at noon.

Women’s Soccer
The Orange have struggled to get their offense going this fall. Syracuse has been shut out in all three games this Fall dropping matches to Pitt (2-0), Louisville (3-0) and Notre Dame (2-0). Lysianne Proulx has been in goal for all three games and is second in the ACC with 20 saves. The Orange will host North Carolina and Duke this week.
The Syracuse men’s soccer team will start their season tomorrow evening against Pitt and Steve will have that game recap for us this week.
