As the college basketball season has been delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team has yet to release a full schedule. With the season just one month away we received a bit of scheduling news on Thursday. Syracuse will host Bryant on Nov. 27.

This will be first ever meeting between Syracuse and Bryant. The two schools have never faced each other.

Syracuse will play its 20 game ACC schedule, but the non-conference slate will be condensed. Teams participating in a multiple-team event can play up to seven non-conference games. It’s unclear at this time if Bryant is part of an MTE at Syracuse.

Bryant finished 15-17 last season, going 7-11 in the NEC conference. The Bulldogs finished No. 234 in KenPom.

Bryant has two players from the Syracuse area. Sophomore guard Charles Pride won a state championship with Ryan Blackwell at Liverpool in 2018. Luke Sutherland played high school basketball at West Genesee where he was named Mr. Basketball in CNY. Sutherland transferred from Siena in the spring and received a waiver to play immediately. Both played AAU basketball with the New York Jayhawks.
