A tale as old as time itself. Your Syracuse Orange versus the nefarious Bye Week Fightin’ Byes. Without question, the most important and most exciting sporting event that takes place this weekend, no questions asked.
It’s yet another opportunity for Syracuse to extend its 148-game winning streak. But you that Bino Dabers and his merry men of gentlemen have something sneaky up their sleeves. So how do we think at TNIAAM the game will turn out? Well...
Syracuse 92, Bye Week 10
You never know with Bye Week what tricks they’ll pull to secure a victory. Although it hasn’t worked out for the Fightin’ Byes in their first three games, Bino Dabers always looks to bring something new to the table against the Orange. There are rumors circulating that Dabers is checking to see if Diley Rixon is eligible for the Fightin’ Byes. If Rixon can play, SU’s perfect record against Bye Week is in serious jeopardy.
However, it seems like the Fightin’ Byes haven’t fully bought in to Wony Tight’s 5-3-3 defense, and that should open the door for Sean Tucker to cause havoc throughout the game. The only real threat is if Rixon can play, and I don’t see it happening. It’s a tough NCAA wavier process. Syracuse fans can rest easy on Saturday.
Syracuse 71, Bye Week 4
The final score isn’t reflective of how tough this game will be. You never get an easy one with the Fightin’ Byes especially after one of Bino Dabers’ legendary pre-game speeches about the American Industrial Revolution. Look for the Orange to get Jawhar Jordan out in the open field in this one. Syracuse pours it on in the fourth quarter when Dabers switches his offense and defense as part of his belief in training his team to be able to do any job needed.
Syracuse 53, Bye Week 2
Scorigami! The 5-3-3 shouldn’t be able to stop the Syracuse offense, as Sterlin Gilbert figures out that the Stay Put back actually isn’t moving and just tosses over the top of him for multiple scores. Unfortunately for the Orange, multiple penalites lead to an attempted 65-yard extra point, which the Fightin’ Byes return for a tw-point conversion. Weirdly, Will Trilliams basically just walks it into the endzone, as both teams wander around the field. Strange outcome, but the Orange should definitley take care of business.
Now it’s your turn...
