#FakeNunes previews Syracuse vs. Liberty

... and a special guest drops in

NCAA Football: Duke at Syracuse Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

Freshly squeezed from the sub-basement level of TNIAAM HQ it’s the internet’s most ridiculous college football preview series- #FakeNunes. We’re full on board the Next Man Up train for this week’s Syracuse Orange preview.

Opponent: Liberty Flames

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia

Students: 45,370. Yes really

The 2020 Fake Nunes Statistical Index (#FNSI)

We continue to look to innovate our analytics model so we here’s what the lab cooked up for this season.

Uniforms:

Syracuse

After splitting the last two home games look for Syracuse to come back to the traditional home look. Orange helmets, blue jerseys and orange pants.

Liberty

We will probably see Liberty going with this look which does seem pretty familiar doesn’t it.

Advantage: Syracuse

The distance traveled

Something new for this year is to dig through each roster and find the player from the furthest distance from the school. Not their hometown but where they played previous to enrollment. How is that relevant to a game prediction? Can you think of a better measure of “want-to” than measuring how far a player travels? For Syracuse the player is Maximilian Mang from Nuthetal Germany (3,930 miles) while for Liberty it’s Ralfs Rusins from Carnikava, Latvia (4,542 miles).

Advantage: Liberty

Football Program Hashtag:

None vs #RiseWithUs

Once again a program leaves a better option on the sideline. Liberty has a #Fire2Torm in their account bio but all they had to do was use the S instead of a number and that’s an upgrade

Advantage: Liberty

Alumni Wrestling Connection

We’re going to have to put this one on hold this week because for the first time in #FakeNunes history we’ve got a coach sliding in the DM’s

Coach Freeze. What are you hoping to see out of your offense this week?

What about the opportunistic Syracuse defense? Are you worried about turnovers?

Ok then. Guess we’ll just say good-bye and good-luck Coach.

Advantage: Syracuse

The Official #FakeNunes Game Prediction:

Orange fans cannot believe that Liberty is favored. Even though it’s a new stadium expect another upstate athlete to thrive upon returning back near home. Josh Mack is almost a lock to get over 100 yards rushing but some Syracuse trickeration in the 4th quarter sends the game to OT. In the 6th OT the Orange win when Liberty inadvertently kneels on the conversion attempt.
