After spending time on the Cleveland Browns practice squad this Fall, Syracuse Orange alum Eric Dungey will get another opportunity to play professionally. Dungey has been assigned to the Dallas Renegades of the XFL after an injury to their projected starting quarterback Landry Jones.

The Dallas team is led by former Oklahoma Sooners HC Bob Stoops and the other quarterback currently on their roster is Phillip Nelson formerly of the East Carolina Pirates. Dallas hopes to get Jones back before they open the season on February 9th but Dungey should get plenty of opportunities in training camp.
Dungey wasn’t the only former Orange player involved in a XFL transaction yesterday. Sean HIckey was added to the St. Louis BattleHawks roster. St. Louis is scheduled to face Dallas in the opening week so we might see the former Syracuse players face off.
