Heading into the spring signing period, the Syracuse Orange were looking to solidify a few spots in the 2020 class, including at quarterback. Currently the Orange seem to have alleviated that immediate concern, with the commitment of Jacobian Morgan.

Morgan is a 6-foot-4, 200 pound quarterback from Canton High School in Canton, Mississippi. At present, he hasn’t been rated by any of the services, but per Max Preps, threw for 2,487 yards and 27 touchdowns in his senior season, his first as a starter. His offer sheet included both Jackson State and Austin Peay along with the Orange offer extended this weekend.
As the first quarterback committed in this cycle, he helps to bolster the roster behind Tommy DeVito. The freshman should have some time to develop and with the 6-foot-4 frame, has the physical tools to work with new quarterbacks coach Sterlin Gilbert, who has worked with unheralded quarterbacks before. Morgan’s commitment is the 19th for the class of 2020, with National Signing Day coming up on February 5th.
