#FakeNunes previews Syracuse vs. Pitt

Can we get a Script vs Script jersey matchup?

NCAA Basketball: ACC Conference Tournament-Pittsburgh vs Syracuse Jeremy Brevard-USA TODAY Sports

The Syracuse Orange men’s basketball team returns to the Dome Saturday to fittingly take on an old foe in the Noon timeslot.

Opponent: Pittsburgh Panthers

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Students: 33,217 students who don’t appreciate Sidney Crosby gracing their city as much as they should.

The 2019-20 Fake Nunes Equation of Tumult (#FNET)

You wanted something more ridiculous than RPI and the NCAA gave you NET. We give you more ridiculousness so we bring back the FNET metric.

Head Coach Bench Attire:

Jeff Capel gets how to do #SneakersandSuits week for Coaches vs Cancer. You join #TeamNoTie and add the uniform color pocket square for a touch of uniformity.

We applaud Jim Boeheim for the Dome lining inside his sport coat but it’s not surprising he’s taking his jacket off in close games. When you’re wearing sneakers your brain is thinking comfort so why not go with a nice Jim Nantz Vineyard Vines quarter-zip?

Advantage: Pitt

NBA 2K Playability:

If this is a game of 2 on 2 then you’d like your chances with Pitt’s backcourt but it’s not and when you can unleash some Marek Dolezaj spinning drives on your opponent that tilts this to the Orange.

Advantage: Syracuse

Basketball Program Hashtag:

None vs #ZooEra

Well they call the student section the Oakland Zoo but Jeff Capel’s not new so we get where this was going, but it’s not a direct hit. Still better than nothing. Come on Syracuse what are we doing here?

Advantage: Pitt

ACC Social Media Favorites:

We all know Jeff Capel played at Duke and then he won in Chapel Hill so this isn’t even close.

Advantage: Pitt

4.1/10 The tracker’s starting to gain some national attention and we know Boeheim likes to zig we expect him to zag. However look at how much more relaxed and comfortable Jim is with that constricting coat gone.

Wrestling Theme Song for this game

We’re going with Pittsburgh native Elias and if you want to know “Who wants to walk with Elias?” in the Dome on Saturday the answer is probably just a few people.

Prediction:

Pitt’s smaller line-up is going to force some turnovers but the Orange are going to force the ball inside. Bourama Sidibe’s primed for one of those 10 point/11 rebound games that make you think that maybe he’s going to become a consistent threat. Syracuse keeps the streak going with a home win.
