Each week, we’ll take a look at what those other college football media sites are saying about the Syracuse Orange.

AP and Coaches Poll:

*sigh*

ESPN

Syracuse dropped out of the Power Rankings but ESPN’s bowl predictions (well Mark Schlabach’s) have the Orange heading to NYC for the New Era Pinstripe Bowl to face the Michigan State Spartans.

In rankings, the Football Power Index and SP+ rankings put Syracuse 70th this week. The Syracuse offense is 85th in the SP+ while the defense dropped to 52nd. This week’s opponent Clemson Tigers are ranked 2nd overall by SP+ (15th on offense and 4th on defense).

Syracuse.com

Chris Carlson drops the Orange five spots to 8th in his ACC Power Rankings this week moving them behind the Miami-Florida Hurricanes.

“While Syracuse is almost certainly better than the way it performed against Maryland, concerns about two new offensive tackles, combined with the loss of Eric Dungey’s ability to make plays when things go wrong, are very reasonable at this point.”

CBS Sports’ 1-130 drops Syracuse to 45th this week between the California Golden Bears and the Fresno State Bulldogs. Clemson’s the number one team in CBS’ rankings.

The Athletic drops the Orange from 24th to 42nd in their Top 130 Power Rankings in between ACC colleagues N.C. State Wolfpack and Miami Hurricanes. Yes, Clemson is 1st in these rankings too.
