The depth chart, over the past few weeks has stayed the same, full up with the “OR” designations. This week, as the Syracuse Orange prepare to face the Holy Cross Crusaders, with minimal changes on paper, but some likely alterations on the field.

The only change of note on the Week 5 chart is the inclusion of the dreaded “OR” for free safety and cornerback. As Antwan Cordy and Ifeatu Melifonwu both picked up injuries against Western Michigan, they’ve now gained the “OR” nods. Scoop Bradshaw is now listed as the number two corner on both sides, and will possibly be starting corner pending Melifonwu’s injury status.
Injuries to a few personnel were addressed in Coach Dino Babers’ press conference with nothing definitive noted on Sam Heckel, Melifonwu, Andre Cisco, or Cordy. McKinley Williams’s status or a projected return date got a slight update from Dino in his press conference. Babers mentioned that Bear may be returning around NC State, which will be a huge gain coming off of the post Holy Cross bye.
While it wasn’t reflected this week or last week, the Orange added a more stock 4-3-4 formation with Mikel Jones checking in at the Sam linebacker. It’s good to see the freshman getting some run and he looked impressive in the outing, and is still listed as the number two will linebacker.
