The ACC continued rolling out its conference TV network with some exclusive content. Content that had to wait for other content.
That 9 p.m. ACC men’s basketball schedule announcement waited until 9:30 p.m. ET while the Florida State soccer team pushed into overtime. When the show finally started, it revealed a brutal February slate for the Syracuse Orange.
Syracuse will open and finish the coldest month in Central New York facing Duke and North Carolina, respectively, at the Carrier Dome. Both games are on Saturdays.
Two wrinkles transformed the ACC schedule unlike anything Jim Boeheim’s squad has faced since leaping from the Big East. They face Virginia to open the season in mid-November, while a trip to Georgia Tech is sprinkled into December before the conference opens after New Year’s Day.
The Georgia Tech trip falls between the Iowa game at Syracuse and the Georgetown trip. SU, loser of four of their last six in recent years (MANY in a row), finishes the season with four of their last six games on the road.
The ACC revealed three seasons of opponents for its teams under a new 20-game schedule to promote the new network. Games featured on ESPN are mentioned below, while the ACC Network and ACCNE will transform watching the Orange for most of the season.
