The Syracuse Orange open up the home football schedule this Saturday vs. the Clemson Tigers, and when they do, they’ll be donning their “classic” home uniforms.
Classic is back. The Orange return to the traditional home uniform look on Saturday.

In a nice touch, SU unveils this week’s threads — orange helmet, blue jersey, orange pants — with a collection of Orange highlights wearing the “classic” uniform combination, then Tommy DeVito at the end. “Classic never changes” pops up on the screen, which... is true, I guess.
While we’ll wait and see what Syracuse has in store on this front, it does seem a bit odd that the Orange are wearing blue during an “orange out” and Otto’s Army has been pushing for the student section to wear white. Alas...
It’s SU’s first time donning the blue jerseys this season, though they already wore the orange helmets and pants in the opener vs. Liberty. ‘Cuse was actually 5-4 in the orange/blue/orange combo from 2014-18 (how did we only wear that nine times in five years?), and won wearing it against West Virginia in the Camping World Bowl last December.
What do we think? Fine? Confused given the “orange out?” I could go either way. At least we’re not wearing all blue vs. the Tigers as we did back in 2015.
