Name: Geoff Cantin-Arku
Position: Linebacker
Year: Freshman
Height: 6’4”
Weight: 224
Hometown: Lévis, Que.
High School: Cégep Garneau
2018 stats: Collected 66 tackles — five TFLs — plus five interceptions with Cégep Garneau last season.
2019 projections: There aren’t a ton of linebackers on this roster right now, so don’t rule out Geoff’s ability to see the field this year. But the fact that he was a summer enrollee could make him more likely to redshirt.
How’d he get here?: Like a lot of Syracuse’s Canadian additions in recent years, Cantin-Arku impressed coaches at an Orange football camp and received an offer shortly thereafter. There were no other offers that we’re aware of.
What’d recruiting sites say?: Everyone said three stars.
Money quote: As he succinctly explained to 247Sports after committing —
“I felt home.”
Twitterfeed: @geofcantin
Tweets of wonder: Some congrats headed his way.

What movie would Dino Babers recommend for him?: We’ll go with a throwback, in 1947’s “Whispering City,” which is based in Quebec City. A lawyer commits a murder early in his life, but an investigation into that fact doesn’t come about until many years later. It’s about as gritty a noir as you’d find back then.
Interesting nugget o’ interest: Apparently Geoff is the second Cegep Garneau player to suit up for Syracuse, joining David Bouchard (2007).
Let’s get a good look at ya: Some highlights from last season for you —
