While you were enjoying your hot dogs and fireworks Syracuse Orange coaches were celebrating another verbal commitment. North Carolina OL Josh Ilaoa made his commitment to join the Orange’s 2020 class.

Ilaoa is listed at 6’3 and 280 pounds and is listed as a three-star defensive tackle by 24/7. Despite what the ranking says, Syracuse was recruiting Josh for the offensive side of the ball.
“I am going to be playing guard, but don’t be surprised if I’m playing anything else,” Ilaoa said. “What makes me different is that I am very athletic and versatile.”
In getting the commitment from the Charlotte native, Dino did miss an opportunity to add a little nod to another Charlotte resident by adding a little extra to his usual commitment tweet but maybe he’ll save that for signing day.

Josh chose Syracuse over offers from schools including the Illinois Fighting Illini and East Carolina Pirates. The Orange now have eleven commitments for the Class of 2020 and we’ll continue to keep you updated as Dino Babers and his staff continue to build upon their class.
