Get to Know Your Orange Man: #14, WR Anthony Queeley

New, 2 comments

The wideout is looking to break into a tough corps this season.

NCAA Football: Syracuse at Pittsburgh Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

Name: Anthony Queeley

Position: Wide receiver

Year: (Redshirt) Freshman

Height: 6’2”

Weight: 197

Hometown: Orlando, Fla.

High School: Lake Nona

2018 Stats: Played in one game (Boston College), with no statistics recorded. As such, he preserved his redshirt.

2019 Projections: Queeley may find some time as the season progresses, but the depth in the upper class of the wide receivers is pretty impressive. He showed solid in the spring game though and could be working up the depth chart. I could see minutes and a gain of experience for 2020 and beyond though.

How Did He Get Here?: Queeley had offers from Duke, Minnesota, Tulane, UCF and Rutgers, Queeley among others, but decided to head north to Syracuse.

What Did Recruiting Sites Say?: Three stars from everyone.

Money Quote: On what drew him to Syracuse —

“They had a couple of receivers [Amba Etta-Tawo and Ervin Phillips) have almost 100 catches [last year] and the type of offense they run is kind of similar to what we run. It’s a fast-paced offense, no-huddle, hard-working… best fit for me.”

Tweets of Wonder: From a former standout wide receiver to a future (hopefully) standout wide receiver. If he can use his hands like that though, look out.

What Movie Would Dino Recommend for Him?: Anthony Mackie plays Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (among others). Since it’s one of, if not the best MCU movie that’s been made, Dino wouldn’t pass the opportunity to show off this masterpiece.

Interesting Nugget O’Interest: Apparently Queeley also runs a sneaker business on top of playing football. The sneaker resale business is even fully NCAA vetted and approved! Get after it, Anthony.

Let’s Get a Good Look Atcha: Queeley’s top highlight in Orange was in the tweet above during the spring game, but here’s some footage of him prior to coming north.
